[Alien] Star Dust 1.6.1

This application is an integral component of the [Alien] Star Dust traveling exhibition, designed to enhance visitors' immersive experience with the installation. It provides interactive access to three-dimensional visualizations of historically significant meteorites, complemented by binaural audio effects.

Inspired by the estimate that between 60 and 100 tons of extraterrestrial dust enter Earth's atmosphere daily, the project aims to raise awareness about our broader space environment. It emphasizes that the pollutants we inhale are not confined by national borders, highlighting their global ecological implications.

To utilize the application, users should activate their device's camera and direct it toward images of meteorites displayed within the exhibition space or on distributed postcards. An animated 3D model of the meteorite will then appear onscreen, accompanied by synchronized sound. For optimal audio quality, the use of headphones is recommended.

[Alien] Star Dust: Signal to Noise is a collaborative project developed by Victoria Vesna, co-produced alongside a multidisciplinary team of artists and scientists. The project explores themes of extraterrestrial dust through sound, installation art, and digital mediation.
